Using Affirmations To Change Your Life
2010-06-26
The principles of the Law of Attraction suggest that the thoughts we think impact what we attract to our lives. But even with the best of intentions maintaining a positive focus can be challenging.
Affirmations are positive statements and inspiring messages that can be a powerful tool for maintaining a positive focus. They can also help to create an inspiring environment that will help you to have a more positive attitude, and thereby attract more positive energy to your life!
Tips for Creating Powerful Affirmations:
1. Clearly define your intentions for your life- what do you really need, what do you truly want?
2. Having a "yes I can" attitude is often the difference between success and failure. If you are having trouble letting go of your fears and doubts remind yourself: "I have the power to choose to believe that all things are possible and that anything I want to attract and be is up to me!"
3. Use the power of gratitude! Shifting to an attitude of gratitude will enhance the power of your affirmations and create a mindset of peace that will benefit all areas of your life. Some examples:
"I give thanks for the peace, calm, and harmony that fill my life."
"I am grateful for the abundance and financial security that is mine."
"Thank you for the love that surrounds me and fills my spirit."
"I am grateful for being guided to all that is mine to know and do."
4. Look for positive message plaques, posters, or pictures with sayings that reflect your goals. You can also make your own! Post-it notes work well, or buy inexpensive frames to put your own creations in. Keep them on your desk, your nightstand, kitchen counter, and your bathroom vanity...and be sure to read them often!
5. Above all, remember that change usually doesn't happen overnight. Be patient. Know that you truly do have the power to change your life!!
Wear Your Intention t-shirts can help you to "wear your intentions!"

The Best Tank Top In The World?
2010-06-07
Last year our tank just didn't cut it - it ran really small and was in desperate need of being reworked. We started working with our factory last year...and I won't bore you with the details, but it took doing, and redoing, and redoing, and redoing...and more redoing...but I think what we ultimately wound up with is well worth the time and effort. It has a true-to-size fit, bra strap coverage, and is a soft and comfy top quality organic ribbed material. Best of all we created some great new designs with inspiring and positive messages (and used a couple old favorites, too!) to qualify them for what I think just might be "best tank top in the world" status!!! Take a look and let me know what you think: http://wearyourintention.com/products.php?cat=Tank&catn=Style. ~ Andrea andrea@WearYourIntention.com

Miracles Are Easy To Find When You Look...
2010-05-08
When I think of a miracle, I usually think of something BIG, like the stories you read about someone healing from an incurable disease, or someone surviving an accident that it seems impossible anyone could walk away from. But I was recently reminded that little miracles occur each and every day, and that in the hecticness of life, they are easy to overlook. But when you take the time to look for them, you will discover that miracles surround us, if we take the time to look for them.

Living in the South we don't often experience extremely cold winters, but this year we did. Most of the plants on our property are tropical and don't do well in extended periods of cold - which we had. Many of our plants died, or at least we thought they did. I was getting ready to pull them from our pool area the other day, and noticed the "sticks" that I was getting ready to pull out, had suddenly come back to life and were sprouting new leaves!!! I couldn't believe it - these plants looked as though there was no chance they would or could come back. As you can see from the photos, one is already filled with healthy, beautiful leaves. The other photos show what that plant looked like just a week or two ago...and if you look close you will see a new leaves sprouting from the other plants as well!!
So on my gratitude list for today is thankfulness for this reminder - that things can look pretty bleak, as though there is no hope. And suddenly, without reason and quite unexpectedly, new life can sprout...things can turn around. Miracles are not only possible, but can be found everywhere, if we only take the time to look. ~ Andrea Chervenak :-)
Now I Remember Why I'm Doing This!
2010-05-01
It's been a challenging couple of weeks. I don't like to focus on the negative, so I'll just say that I've encountered one obstacle after another in terms of this business. A friend of mine likes to say when things seem to go wrong around here, "don't get down Andrea...it's just the Evil Force trying to keep you from doing good and spreading positivity in the world!" Even when she's not here somehow just thinking of her saying it, makes me laugh, and whatever was upsetting me at the time seems a lot less important. I find that blessing counting has the same positive effect. Whenever life gets to be a little overwhelming, or I am disappointed in someone, or things don't turn out as planned, I shift my thinking and start making a mental list of all the things that could be wrong and aren't...then start looking around and counting all of the blessings I do have. And suddenly what seemed so troubling just doesn't look as bad as it did.
But there are those times, like I've been dealing with lately, when even a good laugh or blessing counting doesn't quite do the trick. And that is when I find myself in my closet pulling out my Faith t-shirt, or Hope t-shirt. When I put it on I can feel the emotion of Faith or Hope filling my spirit. Every time I look in the mirror I am reminded that I have the ability to let go of the negative energy, and align my thoughts with the positive energy that says I have Faith that it is going to be ok. And the energy of Hope that reminds me all things are possible. And that fills my spirit with peace...and the knowing that all is happening as it is intended to. I am reminded that I have traveled a very long and difficult path to arrive at the place I am today. And I know there is nothing I can't handle, nothing I can't do as long as I keep my focus on what I want to attract and where I want to be. ~ Andrea
Make Every Day Earth Day!
2010-04-20
You are probably aware that Earth Day is Thursday, April 22nd. Did you know that the first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970 and celebrated by 20 million Americans. The concept was the brainchild of Gaylord Nelson, a senator from Wisconsin, who wanted to create a grassroots movement as he was frustrated by the government’s lack of action to preserving our environment. It is estimated that a billion people will observe the 40th Anniversay of Earth Day this year.
It's wonderful that so many people will take the time to recognize the many things we can all do to protect and preserve our natural resources, and improve the world's environmental conditions. It is also a great time toexplore ways that each of us can do to help to preverve the beauty and wonder of the amazing planet we are blessed to live on.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PROTECT OUR PLANET?
- Recycle
- Conserve Water
- Buy energy efficient products*
- Drive energy efficient vehicles*
- Raise thermostat in summer/lower it in winter
- Limit or stop personal use of pesticides
- Eat organic food & wear organic clothing
- Use chemical free cleaners and detergents
- For more information & tips visit my natural health
& healing website, Heal With Hope.com
LOOKING FOR IDEAS TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY:
- Plant a tree
- Organize a community clean-up
- Volunteer to clean-up rivers, lakes, and beaches
- Take a hike or walk, visit a park, or go to the beach to appreciate the miracle and beauty that is nature’s gift
Enjoy the beauty of God's blessings...on Earth Day, and every day! ~ Andrea Chervenak
Words to Live By
2010-04-16
A few days ago a friend of mine was sharing several stories of frustration about people who had recently disappointed her. Her feelings of anger and frustration were something I could relate to - I think we all can. If you are human you are going to experience frustration, disappointment, and anger. Later that day I came across some words of inspiration written by Mother Theresa...I shared them with my friend, and wanted to share them with you, too:
People are often unreasonable and self-centered...
forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse of ulterior motives...
be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you...
be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous...
be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow...
do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough...
give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God...
it was never between you and them anyway.
Positive Isn't Pollyanna
2010-03-28
I'm often referred to as "the positive one." When someone transforms their life by committing to have a positive outlook, people come to expect you to always be wearing your rose-colored glasses. But sometimes in addition to being positive, you need to be real. The fact is they are not mutually exclusive -life is not always perfect, and we don't always get everything we want. Seeing things for what they are isn't being negative, it is reality.
Relationship problems, financial woes, and career disappointment can occur even though you have put forth every effort possible to create positivity around them. You had the right attitude, exuded the right effort...you did all the right things. And yet sometimes, things don't work out. They don't have the happy ending you envisioned or wanted. That is happening in my life right now - a venture I have undertaken may not work out the way I had envisioned it to. And when I say it like I see it, people get upset. "Hey you are the positive one - be positive about this" is something I've heard a lot of lately. And I try to explain, I am being positive...but I'm also being real.
For me, part of living a positive-focused life is more than seeing everything always going smoothly and getting everything you want. The reality is a positive-focused life can also mean choosing to believe that everything happens for a reason...even the disappointments, the struggles, and the challenges that come our way. It is knowing that everything always works out...even though it may take longer than we may like, or via a path we might not have chosen had we been given the choice.
Being positive isn't believing that everything is always going to be perfect or go according to our plan, even when you've done everything possible to make it happen. Being positive is acceptance of all things.- even when life takes turns we didn't expect or want. Sometimes you just have to say "this is what it is" and figure out where you go from there. Being positive is about having faith. It is living without regret, or recrimination. It is simply knowing that whatever lies ahead, it is all going to be okay. That when one door closes another one opens. Being positive is not judging life by the number of challenges we face, but by the face we put to those challenges. ~ Andrea Chervenak
Spring is in the Air!
2010-03-21
I love Spring. I don't enjoy the cold weather, and as a real nature lover, I'm always anxious for the cold, dreary, barren feel of winter to transition to the promise of Spring. The warmth and budding beauty of the season always fills me with such awe - that from the harshest of weather comes such great hope and renewal. It really is a metaphor for life...a reminder that to everything there is a season. And from our dark and diffucult times, we too can transition to better, brighter, more hopeful days.
That is what Wear Your Intention tees are all about. They are a reminder that though you may be facing a season of "winter" in your life right now, the promise of better and brighter days of "spring" are just ahead.
~ Andrea :-)
It's Always A Choice
2010-03-04
Each day situations present themselves in which we have a choice to make. Perhaps an obstacle is standing in the way of accomplishing a goal, maybe it's a personal or professional challenge,or disappointment in someone, or something.
Our natural inclination is to get angry and focus on the negative aspects of what has occurred. It is easy to lose sight of that doing so is a choice. It may be a sub-conscious choice, but it is a choice nonetheless. Because the fact is we have the ability to shift our thinking, to refuse to get caught up in a cycle of negativity. We can consciously choose to let go of our disappointment, hurt, or anger...and instead view the situation as an opportunity. Because we do not grow stronger by never being challenged. We do not grow wiser unless we make mistakes and learn from them. We never have the chance to be empowered if we are not placed in situations that test us. Life is not easy. But then again, it wasn't meant to be. We are hear to learn, to grow, and to evolve.
And so we are going to face obstacles, we are going to be challenged, we are going to be tested. And when these things happen, we have the power to choose to view these situaions for what they are - a chance to seek the blessings in this, and every, moment...the power to forgive, and to love...the power to stand up when life knocks us down, and the power to say, " I give thanks for this experience as I know I will move through this time quickly, evolving a stronger, healthier, happier person." ~ Andrea :-)
Gone, but never forgotten...
2010-02-24
Over twenty years ago we left the Northeast and moved South to Florida. We didn't know anyone, and though we knew it was the right thing for our family, it was a litltle scary leaving most of our family and friends behind. Shortly after we moved in to our new home we met our next door neighbors. Lucy, her husband John, and her three great kids made us feel welcome, and we were relieved to knowt that we had moved next to wonderful people.
We lived next to Lucy and her family for over 18 years, until we moved to another home about 5 years ago. Turns out shortly thereafter John and Lucy moved to South Florida. And though we lived many hours away from one another, we stayed in close touch.
Last year Lucy called to share some bad news. She had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and was getting ready to undergo surgery and chemotherapy. As is Lucy's nature, she had a positive attitude, which she maintained until last week, when she lost her battle.
The heartbreak of this loss to me, my family, and all who knew Lucy, pales in comparison to the loss her family is enduring. Lucy was a light in the life of everyone who knew her...always willing to lend a hand, to offer a hug, and to be there to help in any way she could. She was especially devoted to her wonderful family - they were the center of her universe, and she theirs.
As sad as I am about losing my dear friend, I am also inspired by her journey. I have always admired Lucy...but her attitude and bravery this last year is a reminder that it is not the challenges we face in life that matter, but the face we put to each challenge. Lucy was determined to find a way to beat the cancer, but also knew that destiny and God's will would determine the ultimate outcome. Her faith was, and is, something to be admired and emulated. She died at peace...knowing that she lived her best life, and lived up to her best and full potential as a human being. She left knowing that a part of her will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to be the reciepient of her beautiful smile, or of one of her comforting hugs. You may be gone my friend...but you will never be forgotten. xoxo
You Have the Power to Change The World!
2010-02-09
Someone recently asked me what I hoped to accomplish when I created Wear Your Intention. Normally I would share the story of how through my desire to help someone remain positive through a difficult time, I recognized that they (and all of us) need reminders to help us stay focused on the positive. Instead I surprised myself when I replied, "I want to empower people to change their lives, and to know that by doing so they can change the world."
I know it may sound strange, but until that moment my intention for Wear Your Intention was never crystal clear. I knew that shifting to a more positive outlook on life completely transformed my own life, and that I wanted to inspire others to do the same. I knew that I needed daily reminders of the positive thoughts and energy that I wanted to be focused on, and thought others would benefit from this as well. But change the world?
The fact is, one person can change the world. Our individual energy is simply one small part of a larger collective energy. When one person makes the choice to live a positive focused life, they may inspire someone else to do the same...so from one to another the force of positive energy grows...and slowly but surely the energy of the entire world begins to shift and become more positive!
Anyone who is interested in being a force for positive change in the world simply has to live a more positive life. To focus their attention to what they want to attract, rather than that which they are trying to move away from. They can count their blessings, instead of their sorrows. They can live in the moment - letting go of the past and having faith that the future will be all that is is intended to be.
And if you'd like to join us as we try to do our small part to make the world a better place check out our Force For Positive Change Campaign and take a pledge to be a positive force in the world. We've also created a special t-shirt - a reminder of the power of one! All profits from the sale of the "Changing The World...One T-Shirt At A Time" Limited Edition t-shirt will be donated to the Red Cross for relief efforts in Haiti. ~ Andrea Chervenak
The Power of Positive Intention
2010-01-27
If you've browsed the Wear Your Intention website you probably know how I used positive intention to transform my life. I had been ill for more than a decade with a debilitating chronic illness that left me too weak and dizzy to do much other than wonder if I would ever be well again. My awakening came when I heard Dr. Wayne Dyer speak about the power of our thoughts and intentions...and I began to use those philosophies to change my life. As I changed my thinking and focused my energy on what I wanted to attract, I bean to change...and also began to attract more and more positive energy to my life.
I decided to share all that I had learned hoping that others would be helped by the ideas and inspiration that guided me to heal my life. In March 2006 I created a natural health and alternative healing website, Heal With Hope, filled with everything I knew about healing and living a healthy life. I wrote a book so those who needed a more comprehensive and personal guide, would have it (Heal With Hope: A Healing Handbook & Journal). And in 2008 Wear Your Intention was born. Many people had shared their challenge of living a positive-focused life because life's daily challenges always seemed to interfere with their ability to think and be a positive. I shared this same challenge and thought that "wearing one's intention" was the perfect solution!
Earlier this week I put the finishing touches on a new website that contains more in-depth information about positive intention - what it is, and ways in which you can use it in your life. I hope you will visit The Power of Positive Intention.com and let me know what you think. I have been blessed with so much, and hope that what has helped me, will also help guide you to finding all that you are searching for in your life.

Inspired From Tragedy
2010-01-25
These are tough times for many. You may know someone who has lost their job, or you may be personally coping with some kind of economic or personal challenge. But you only have to spend a few minutes watching the suffering that is going on in Haiti to realize that as difficult as life may be, at least we have hope for better and brighter days. Even after Hurricane Katrina most people in Louisianna and Mississippi who lost so much, still had hope for a better future. But the people in Port Au Prince had almost nothing to being with...and now the meager possessions they did have are gone. And yet few seem to have lost faith. I watched on television as hundreds of people participated in religious services, praising God and Jesus. I know from personal experience that while it is easy to have faith when life is good, being able to maintain that faith when everything has been taken away from you is the real test.
As sad as this tragedy is, it is hearwarming to see how the world has come together, with so many doing so much to help. Some are volunteering their time and expertise, others materials and money. It is a reminder of the true spirit of human kindness and compassion. And it has inspired us to help, too. Wear Your Intention is donating $5 from the sale of every t-shirt we sell on our website in Januray and February to the Red Cross, earmarked for relief efforts in Haiti, or wherever the greatest need is in the world. Because unfortunately the people of Haiti are not the only ones who are suffering. So know that every WYI t-shirt purchase you make will not only help you to live a more positive life, but will also help to benefit those in need. We are making it our goal for 2010 to do our small part to change the world - one positive thought and action at a time!! ~ Andrea Chervenak
Don't Play the Blame Game
2010-01-12
Maybe you've read The Secret, or studied the principles of the Law of Attraction. Perhaps you've read an article or book about how powerful your thoughts are. Maybe you've read information on Wear Your Intention about how focusing on the positive will help you attract more positive energy to your life. And so you work really hard at being a positive person. You try to keep your attention on all of the positive things you want to attract, and the person you aspire to be. You treat others with respect, give as much as possible. You are grateful for all of your blessings. In other words you do all the "right things" and yet you still seem to be stuck, or things don't always turn out the way you had hoped. And that's when it's easy to start playing the "blame game." You begin to think, "well I am obviously not being a positive enough person. I am not thinking the right thoughts or doing the right things if I keep attracting all of this negativity to my life."
Well, here's my take on the secret to The Secret, the Law of Attraction, and the prinicples of the power of positive intention: life isn't meant to be perfect. There is only one perfect Being, and unfortunately it isn't you or me. If God had intended us to be perfect, we would be. Does He want us to be healthy, happy, and have all of the things that will bring us peace & joy? I sure beliveve so. But for reasons unknown to us in this lifetime, we are here to grow, evolve, and learn...and the way that we do this is by facing challenges, confronting our fears, and by dealing with situations that require us to dig deep within to survive.
The beauty of being a positive person isn't in everything in life being perfect and going exactly how we want it to. It is living through the disappointments and challenges with an attitude that says, "I can get through this...and when I do I will be stronger, wiser, better." It is acceptance of what is, and faith in the knowing that things not only CAN be better, but that they WILL be better. It is doing our best each moment of each day. It is focusing on the blessings, and on the positive intentions we have for our lives. Being a truly positive person isn't about having a good attitude when things are going well...it is accepting the down cycles as a part of the process of life...and being able to smile at our imperfect, but wonderful lives. ~ Andrea :-)
Resolutions vs Intentions
2009-12-30
It's that time of year again...we begin to focus on all of the things that need changing in our lives, and ourselves. And most of the time by the middle of the month, we have forgotten all about our resolutions. But I would like to suggest that instead of setting resolutions this year, set intentions. What's the difference? Resolutions focus on change, intentions are your vision for the future. It is not about making instant change, but rather about making a commitment to focus your energy on what it is you want to attract and be.
For example, you want to improve your financial situation. Write down on a piece of paper, "It is my intention to attract abundance and financial security to my life." Or perhaps you want to lose some weight, "It is my intention to be at the perfect weight for my body." Or maybe it is love you are searching for: "It is my intention to have true love and happiness in my life."
Each day use Gratitude Prayer and Visualization to continue to reinforce to the Universe what it is you want to attract to your life. As often as possible - or at the very least each morning before you get out of bed, and in the evening before falling asleep - give thanks for the knowing that the Universe (God) wants you to be happy, and to have all the things that will bring you happiness...because setting an intention is also about believing that there is a Divine Power at work to help you achieve greatness, and all the goodness that you wish for your life. So you might pray: "Thank you God for the great abundance and financial security in my life." Or, "Thank you God for enabling me to be the perfect weight - for looking and feeling great." Or, "Thank you God fo guiding me to true love and happiness."
As you give thanks, be sure to create a picture in your mind of what it is you want to attract - see yourself having achieved it, try to feel what it is going to feel like to have it. Most importantly have Faith, and trust in the knowing that all you need and want is on its way to you.
And of course wearing a Wear Your Intention t-shirt with a positive message is one more way to make your desires known to the Universe!!!
It is my intention that your life is blessed with all good and wonderful things in the New Year!!!! ~ Andrea Chervenak
My Guardian Angels...
2009-12-17
The dictionary describes a Guardian Angel as: an angel believed to have special care of a particular individual; a savior or protector. I never really believed in angels - guardian, or otherwise, but I am now convinced the world is full of them, because I have been blessed to have had several show up in my life the last few years!
It was just over three years ago, I had found my way through a very long and difficult illness, and was inspired to create a website to share all that I had learned about healing with others who were also searching for ideas and inspiration. I knew absolutely nothing about creating a website, my computer skills were basically limited to emailing and internet shopping. That's when divine intervention brought Guardian Angel number one into my life. Evelyn Dufner of My Computer Angel.com came to my rescue - first by helping me to build and develop the Heal With Hope website, and then by teaching me everything I needed to know about computers and web design. How special is Evelyn? I don't know too many people who would rush to a client's home at 10:00 at night because their computer crashed...and it just so happens to be the same day they have finished an 18 month journey of writing a 260 page book!! Not only did she come to help me that night, but has done so many other times as well.
I am also indebted to a dear friend, Matt Weber of ROAR On The Web.com. Matt is a brilliant marketer and owner of an incredible web design/internet marketing company. We had lost touch for a number of years, but divine intervention played its part and we reconnected a couple of year ago when I was in need of a company that offered greater technical know-how. Matt has been an invaluable source of information, ideas and inspiration. He and his talented team redesigned the HWH website earlier this year, creating a beautiful and well-organized website...and because of their expertise, the site reaches more people than ever before.
About a year and a half ago I was inspired to develop Wear Your Intention. I knew absolutely nothing about women's apparel, particulary organics, all I knew was that I wanted to offer a fashionable t-shirt made of organic cotton. The Universe guided me to reconnect with another friend I had lost touch with, and who it turns out was opening a business specializing in organic clothing and other natural products. There is not enough time or space for me to share with you all that Paula Rigoli of Pure Style Sales & Marketing has done to help me, but I can tell you this - without her I am not sure Wear Your Intention would exist. She is a bright, loving, caring person, who is without a doubt, my Guardian Angel. She is in the process of redoing her website, but if you are ever in need of natural or organic products, she's the person you want to talk to. (PureStyleSalesandMarketing.com).
You would think that at this point I had been blessed enough, but I can tell you that it just gets better and better. Some of the angels who continued to enter my life include Marcy Matthews of Lawton Printers, who with Brad Berberich of the same company, spent 6 torturous months helping me to take my 260 page "manuscript" and turned it into the beautiful, easy-read book that it is today. Both Marcy and Brad treated Heal With Hope A Healing Handbook as though it were their own, and they painstakingly worked to ensure that every detail was just right. They give the term customer service new meaning.
Through Marcy I met two of the most talented graphic artists you could ever hope to work with. Renee Blair (ReneeBlair.com) and David Leach are the creative talent behind all of Wear Your Intention's unique, original designs. They are not just artistically talented, but they are two of the nicest people I have ever met. They both have the patience of a saint - and trust me, I know this because I can definintely test the patience of a saint!! Without them there would be no beautiful t-shirts, no catalogs, no hang tags...none of the creative materials they continue to produce for us each day.
Another person who has made this journey so remarkable is our t-shirt printer, Joe Hull. Joe owns J & H Printing and I don't think he had any idea what he was getting himself into when he agreed to print our t-shirts. T-shirt printing is an art, and I have no doubt that the time and care Joe takes with each shirt he prints adds to the love and positive energy that people feel when they wear a WYI tee.
And earlier this year another Guardian Angel entered my life. Evelyn took a teaching position at a local college, and I desperately needed to find a computer/web tutor...but I didn't think it would ever be possible to find anyone to fill her shoes. But then I met Dave Van Beekum, owner of DB Tech Design. Dave is a very talented, very bright young man, who has been a terrific teacher. He recently updated the look of the Wear Your Intention website, and customized it so it is now more user-freindly. Dave and I have been busy brainstorming ideas and have a lot of new features and great things planned for 2010!
I have also been blessed with two wonderful friends who have offered encouragement and support...and have been willing to do whatever they can to help - including modeling! I am so very grateful to Alison and Lynn for always finding time to help, to offer an opinion, and to listen to me even when I tell the same story over and over! ;-)
As blessed as I have been having all these amazing people in my life, it is my family to whom the greatest thanks must go. My beautiful daughter Laura, who patiently read every version of my book - over and over and over. Who provides ideas, opinions, and is a sounding board for everything I do. She models all of our t-shirts even though she is busy with her own work and activities. Her enthusiasm and love has gotten me through many bumps in the road, and she is without a doubt the light of my life.
My son Michael is a source of balance and groundedness. He is my reminder that it is the simple things in life that. matter. He may not be in the midst of the "action" but is always there to cheer me on, and I know that he is there for me whenever I need him.
And then there is my husband, Mike. Everyone who knows him will tell you that he is without a doubt one of the kindest, most decent people you will ever know. He is my inspiration, my backbone, my rock. For 36 years he has provided unconditional love and support. He is always there to catch me when I fall, to enourage me when I want to quit, and who makes me believe I can do anything... because he believes I can. I can tell you with 100% certainly there would be no Heal With Hope or Wear Your Intention without him, because without him by my side there is no way I would have survived those dark and difficult days that preceeded all the joy that fills my life today.
I give thanks to God for all of the angels He has blessed my life with. I give thanks for the inspiration, the purpose, and the passion that fills my mind and spirit. I give thanks for the honor of knowing these amazing people, and for gift of having them in my life. ~ Andrea Chervenak

Spend less, give more...
2009-12-04
We are living through challenging times. We have in some ways become spoiled by the abundance that so many of us enjoyed for a very long time. And now even those who are not directly affected by the economic downturn are feeling its impact. We have been all reminded that bubbles do burst, that nothing is guaranteed, and that it is possible to survive without things that a short time ago seemed essential.
But I think that in many ways this is a good thing. Perhaps we all have a greater appreciation now of how blessed we really are. Maybe we will be less wasteful. And most importantly we will be more aware of how many people are in need. And that those of us who can, need to put a hand out and help those less fortunate.
So maybe this is the year to spend a little less on gifts, and give a little more to charity. Have an animal lover on your gift list? Then make a donation to an animal shelter in their name. Have someone who loves food - then donate to a local food pantry in their honor. Last year I asked people to donate to Modest Needs and donate money to someone in need instead of giving me a gift I really didn't need or want! Can't afford a monetary donation? Then clean out your closet and donate to Goodwill or other organizations that provide for the needy. One of the greatest gifts you can give: VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME! There are so many organizations in need of help, here are some websites that might lead you in the right direction: www.VolunteerMatch.org, www.1800Volunteer.org, www.Idealist.org.
And don't forget our armed forces:
To let a wounded soldier know that he/she is in your thoughts this holiday season, send a holiday card or note to:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
Xerox's Let's Say Thanks program offers the opportunity to send free printed postcards to troops stationed overseas. www.letssaythanks.com
And don't forget that each month Wear Your Intention chooses a charitable organization to whom we donate a portion of our sales to - this month we are sending $5 to UNICEF for each Hope T-shirt we sell. This way you can buy a great gift, and give to charity at the same time!!
Blessings for a happy, healthy holiday. ~ Andrea :-)
The Spirit of Thankgsiving...
2009-11-20
I love Thanksgiving. It's not just the great food and opportunity to enjoy time spent with family and friends. I love the spirit of Thanksgiving. A day to be thankful, to count blessings, to be grateful. My dad was a man who spread an "attitude of gratitude", who would remind me every time I complained about not having something, or was unhappy with the turn of events in my life, that "someone always has it worse than you." He would then share his favorite tale, the one about the man who was sitting at a bar complaining about a hole in his shoe, only to look over and see that the man next to him had no leg.
Making the choice to follow in my dad's footsteps and have an "attitude of gratitude" has had a transformative affect on me as a person, and my life in general. No matter what life hands me, I make an effort to seek the blessings of the situation...to focus on all that I do have and that is right, rather than on the current state of misfortune. No matter how difficult the challenge I am facing, I know that if I can keep my focus on the positive, I will move through the experience a stronger, wiser, better person.
When you focus on what you have, rather than what you don't, it seems that life is brighter, and the energy you attract more postive. I guess you could compare it to karma - what you put out comes back to you. So try making every day Thanksgiving. Focus on your blessings instead of your sorrows, and discover how an "attitude of gratitude" can change your life!! ~ Andrea :-)
PS Our Love, Peace, Hope t-shirt has a wonderful reminder message about being grateful!
"Today I choose to live with gratitude for the Love that fills my heart, the Peace that rests within my spirit, and the voice of Hope that says... all things are possible."
Discovering your personal power...
2009-11-14
No matter how positive our intentions may be, life's frustrations and disappointments can quickly cause a shift in energy, before we even realize it has happened. Here are a few ideas for turning a seemingly "bad" day into a "glad" day:
1. Get in the habit of paying attention to your behavior and feelings. If you observe your ego dictating your actions (anger/self-pity, etc), or you find outside influences are creating an environment of negativity (frustration, disappointment), simply being aware of this can help to disrupt negative patterns before they fully develop.
2. Once you've identified negative energy you want to move away from, pat yourself on the back! Most people live life oblivious to their actions and reactions. So how do you shift away from this unwanted energy pattern? It can be as simple as making the choice to let it go, and shifting to the positive energy you want to be aligned with. How? Try using the power of your mind and body!!
3. Exercise:
a) Close your eyes and create a picture in your mind of you and the situation/energy you want to move away from.
b) Think/say to yourself, "I choose to release and let go of alignment with this energy of..."
c) Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose as you feel and visualize your divine power & strength collecting in the center of your being.
d) As you release this breath through the mouth, visualize yourself releasing a connection with whatever it is you want to let go of.
e) Take another deep breath in through the nose as you see and feel all of the positive energy you want to attract (peace and calm, strength, balance, harmony, etc). As you continue this long slow breath, feel all of this positive energy flowing through your body...filling your mind, entering your spirit.
f) Think/say : "I give thanks for being aligned with the positive energy of..."
f) Repeat until you feel balanced and harmonious.
I realize this may sound silly, I know I felt that way when I first start testing the powers of my mind and body. Never forget that we have each been blessed with all of the tools we need to be aligned with goodness, peace, love, abundance...
Discovering my personal power has had a transformative affect on my life. The little bumps in the road of life just don't have the same power they used to. So give it a try. You just may discover how powerful you really are!! ~ Andrea :-)
PS Need a little extra help to stay positive? Take a look at our Positive Intention T-shirts...we have messages for alignment with Peace, Love, Hope, and Faith - they really can help you keep your focus on the energy you want to attract!!
Can An Old Dog Learn New Tricks??
2009-11-08
Three years ago when I created the Heal With Hope website I didn't have any budget for advertising and promotion, and was told a great way to spread the word was to blog. I had never blogged before, and quite honestly I felt as though I had shared enough of my personal life experiences with people on the website, so I wasn't thrilled about sharing more of my thoughts and feelings. But I was committed to helping people, and have blogged an average of once a week for the last 3 years.
When I created Wear Your Intention I was told over and over again - "you have to spread the word with social media! You need to have a presence on Facebook." I had a bad experience with a My Space page I set up for Heal With Hope, and was really reluctant to try something like that again, but Iwas told Facebook woudl be a much better experience. Well I am sure it is - that is, if you can figure out how to set everything up! I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say, it took FOREVER for me to finally get my page set-up to the point where I can kinda, sorta figure things out. I know...you're not feeling very encouraged to check it out...but I hope you will. And maybe you can even post some advice as to how I can improve it! Or include a few lessons/tips!! Facebook Link
Now for the last 6 months I've been told "YOU HAVE TO BE ON TWITTER!" And so I finally relented...for two reasons. I want to connect with as many people as possible to let them know about Wear Your Intention. And the other is I thought this was a great place to post daily affiramtions/intentionsand spread a little positive energy in the world each day. It's been almost a week, but I am starting to think it is just not possible to teach an old dog new tricks...or maybe I should say "a new dog old tricks" because it seems the rest of the world is using all this stuff without incident, and quite honestly, I am having a hard time figuring it all out! I just want you to know I am trying!! So if you use Twitter check us out at Wear Intention. And please let me know how I'm doing...I think I am in need of a little positive reinforcement!! Blessings for a peaceful, loving day. ~ Andrea :-)
We are what we think, but...
2009-10-26
I'm am a true believer in the Law of Attraction - of focusing attention to what it is we want to attract rather than that we wish to move away from. Shifting the way I view the world has had a profound affect on my life. I went from seeing myself as a positive person, to actually being a positive person. Each day I attempt to focus my attention on my blessings instead of my troubles...to seek goodness, and to fill my heart with hope, no matter how dark the road ahead appears. This shift has been empowering, and the results far-reaching.
I've been asked how I always manage to maintain a positive and upbeat outlook. I can tell you, I don't. I have the same doubts, the same anxieties, the same fears as anyone. What I have been able to do is to view life's struggles, challenges, disappointments, and unpredictable circumstances as a part of the human condition and as an opportunity for growth, personal evolution, and worldly transformation.
There was a time when I would find myself in the midst of one of life's overwhelming moments and think, "How could this happen to someone who is so focused on the positive." Or I would experience feelings of guilt, "if I was as focused on the positive as I should be, this never would have happened." This is when I have to remind myself there is a divine plan for each of us, and that God's plan includes lessons, periods of enlightenment, and transformative experiences...and that this is not always an easy process.
Our life experiences - the good and the difficult - are part of the human experience we are intended to have. No matter what life throws our way we must attempt to keep our focus beyond the horizon - to what it is we want to attract and to where it is we want to be. Then we will pass through these experiences stronger, wiser, and richer. ~ Andrea :-)
Breast Cancer Prevention...
2009-10-09
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a great time to focus your attention on prevention! As with most cancers and disease, evidence indicates that eating right, exercising, and limiting toxic exposure can go a long way in keeping your immune system healthy, and preventing diseases like cancer.
Although you can find an abundance of information on our sister website, Heal With Hope, about the right foods to eat, exercising, and reducing toxic exposure, one of aspect of disease prevention that is not often discussed is the power of positive thinking, and making sure that our thoughts are in line with what it is we want to attract!
Our thoughts are so very powerful – research indicates that a thought can create an actual physical reaction in the body. So why not use this power to think positive thoughts and add another layer of protection to maintaining healthy breasts, and a healthy body? Using visualization along with gratitude prayer is a tool I use to keep my breasts healthy. I have set the intention that I am going to be the first woman in my family to not have breast cancer. And so each day I give thanks for my healthy breasts while I visualize every cell in my breasts, and my entire body as healthy and whole. A friend uses this same technique as she visualizes a healing white light from God that protects her breasts. I realize some of this sounds a bit “out there” but think about it: it wasn’t that long ago that doctors pooh-poohed the idea that supplements and foods could help prevent and cure disease, and today this is accepted medical practice. I believe that in the next 10 or so years energy medicine – the power of the mind/body connection – will be the next frontier of healing.
So eat right, exercise, reduce your toxic exposure...and have a positive outlook on life. Sure life is full of stress and challenge - that's just the way it is. But focusing on our fears, giving power to negative thinking, doesn't serve us. One of my favorite Wear Your Intention t-shirts is the Life Lesson style with the message: Worry changes nothing...Faith changes everything. Have faith in your own divine powers - to keep yourself healthy by using the power of positive thinking and positive intention. Set your intention today...and then honor and love your body by taking the very best care of it you can! ~ Andrea
New beginnings...
2009-09-21
I am so excited that we are finally ready to launch the brand new Wear Your Intention website. It has been a long wait, one that has involved a great deal of time, energy, and planning. But I feel that it has been worth it all!! I hope you will agree that we have created a beautiful website that is easy to shop, and also offers a lot of information about how to live a healthier, happier life. I have to thank Dave Van Beekham of DB Tech Design for the all the hard work and effort he put into making this an amazing website. And also thanks to Renee Blair and David Leach, two talented graphic designers who worked tirelessly to bring the t-shirts designs to life. You are all awesome and I am so blessed to have you in my life!!!
Positive intention completely transformed my life, not only was it vital to the healing of my physical body, but has also been instrumental in enabling me to live a more purposeful and inspired life. We each have such immense power - that can sometimes become masked by our human frailities, as well as the hectic pace of life. We become so focused on limitations, disappointments, and our flaws and faults that we lose sight of how totally awesome we are, and how miraculous life can be!!
I created Wear Your Intention because I wanted to be reminded each day of the positive energy that I want to attract to my life, and of the positive mindset I want to have. And I wanted others to be able to do the same. Life isn't always easy, but it sure is a lot more fun and rewarding when you realize that we do have the power to be all that we want to be, and to do all that we want to do. Declare and Wear Your Intention!! ~ Andrea Chervenak :-)
